Detoxification from alcohol and/or other mood altering drugs is a sometimes a necessary first step in the overall process of recovery from drug dependence. Detoxification often requires close medical management of the more severe withdrawal symptoms to ensure your overall safety and well-being.To help you make decisions about additional services that may be necessary for your successful recovery, staff members from the Center for Addictions meet with you during your detoxification admission to explain your treatment options and help with discharge planning. Inpatient Addiction Treatment CoxHealth is a member of the Hazelden Betty Ford Patient Care Network, which means we can connect patients with some of the best inpatient addiction treatment options in the country. Partial Hospitalization Partial hospitalization is the most intensive level of outpatient treatment services we provide. It combines much of the intensity and structure of an inpatient or residential program with the freedom and lower costs of outpatient services.During partial hospitalization, you attend full-day treatment services, five days a week (Monday through Friday), and return to your own home in the evenings and on weekends. The length of stay varies from patient to patient, and you are often "stepped-down" through our outpatient services before you are discharged. Intensive Outpatient Programs Intensive outpatient treatment is the most common and versatile level of service we offer.Intensive outpatient treatment is available in morning, afternoon and evening formats. This flexibility means you are able to receive a focused core of addiction services, often with minimal disruption to your work, school or lifestyle schedules. Intensity can be varied by adjusting treatment between a three- and five-day per week schedule. Length of stay varies based on your individual needs. Individual Counseling Individual counseling is an important part of every level of outpatient service. You may participate in individual counseling separate from other levels of services when it will help with your treatment. More often, it’s a follow-up to more intensive treatment levels. Family Support Family involvement is important to each patient’s recovery. Family therapy is arranged based on your and your family’s needs and schedule. Family group sessions are offered once monthly. Medication-Assisted Treatment Medication management needs are evaluated and determined by our medical staff. Medical management of addiction can help you remain in treatment and better control withdrawal symptoms and cravings, allowing you to focus on avoiding triggers and to work with our staff to address any issues that may contribute to a relapse. You can participate in medication-assisted treatment separately from or alongside other levels of care.Medication-assisted treatment may include the use of buprenorphine (Subutex/Suboxone), Campral, Antabuse, Naltrexone, antidepressants or other medications deemed necessary by the treatment team to better help you manage the symptoms of your disease. Psychological Testing/Assessment All Center for Addictions’ patients who want, or would benefit from, a psychological assessment may speak with a licensed psychologist. This evaluation helps both you and our counselors better understand how your emotions affect your addictions. Results are discussed with the psychologist and processed with your counselor, partnering with the primary treatment program and helping with recovery. Continuing Care It’s our philosophy that addiction is a primary, chronic and progressive disease. When you’re involved in a structured, individualized program of recovery and relapse prevention following your treatment, your recovery is most successful. To help, we provide a Continuing Care program free of charge to all patients who complete their primary treatment at the Center for Addictions. We recommend six months of continuous involvement, but don’t limit involvement beyond that time.Continuing Care helps you maintain the changes you began working on during your treatment. Groups are led by an addictions counselor and focus on:- Relapse prevention- Maintaining a sober lifestyle- Continued education about recovery- Resolving issues in recovery- Accountability DOT Assessments Division of Transportation drug and alcohol abuse and/or return-to-work assessments can be arranged through the Center for Addictions working in conjunction with local area substance abuse professionals (SAP). Follow-up treatment to meet the recommendations of the SAP is arranged through the Center for Addictions.
