Hi there! My name is Kayla Matzek. I was born in Wichita, KS, but moved to the quaint town of Forsyth, MO when I was 7 years old, so I consider myself a SWMO native. I am from a large family and am very close to my parents and 4 siblings. I have 2 beautiful pups named Raylee Lynn and Gracie Lou that are great at keeping me busy and happy. In my free time I like antique shopping, crafting, working out, going to church, and spending time with family and friends. I love repurposing stuff to turn in into beautiful décor and I love interior design. I also I have a booth at Relics antique mall. To stay active I like to run, walk with my pups, kayak, or do cardio kickboxing.
I attended University of Missouri School of Medicine. I have been in love with family medicine since high school and every clinical experience that I have had since then has just culminated this passion. I enjoy the wide breadth of issues covered in family medicine along with the unique, long-lasting relationships you form with your patients in this specialty. When I rotated at Cox FMR during my fourth year of medical school, I knew pretty quickly that this was the program for me. I loved the faculty, residents, and staff and appreciated that they made me feel right at home. I loved that I got to experience so many different aspects of family medicine in one short month and learned a ton, and all the while looked forward to coming into work each day. Not everyone can say that, and I feel very blessed to have found a home here at Cox FMR doing what I love.
