Residents Blessy Joseph, DO Hi! I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, spent my high school years in India, and moved to the United States at the age of 17. I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and my Doctor of Osteopathic degree from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO. My hometown is Glendale Heights, IL.I fell in love with medicine at a very young age. Being exposed to healthcare disparities in developing countries instilled a strong sense of purpose in me. The unique role of a family medicine physician to be able to take care of the healthcare needs of a wide variety of patient populations instantly drew me to family medicine. I consider it a privilege to be in this profession, which helps me to make a difference in people's lives every day.During my 3rd year of medical school, I had the opportunity to do a clinical rotation at CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency. That rotation made me fall in love with this program. There is a strong sense of a nurturing family among the staff at this program and a holistic approach to patient care. There is no other place I would rather be trained. I am excited to be part of the CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency team!In my free time you can find me cooking, gardening, or taking on volunteer projects/roles at church. Food and music is also a huge part of my life.
