Legislators join our effort to protect health care workers
CoxHealth is addressing the workplace violence issue in health care on many fronts including legislatively. I appreciate our elected officials including U.S. Senators Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley and Representative Billy Long and their staff who have listened to our concerns and are joining our fight for health care worker safety. Senator Blunt is making important progress in protecting staff by ensuring a fair approach to the CMS survey process in Missouri hospitals. At this week’s American Hospital Association convention in Washington, D.C., Senator Blunt highlighted the issue of patient and employee safety. Senator Blunt is calling on CMS and OSHA to work together on a “regulatory framework that allows us to protect patients and staff at the same time, without jeopardizing compliance with regulations from either organization.”

Voice of the patient
"When I needed to see my own PCP, I was able to schedule online in the evening and get an appointment to be seen the next day. Just a few weeks later, I needed to get my son established with a new PCP. I called 269-INFO, got the white glove treatment, and was set up with an appointment for him to be seen by a new MD the very next day.”
