CoxHealth Auxiliary named top in state
The CoxHealth Auxiliary has been named Missouri’s top auxiliary in the large hospital category – for the 13th time. The award was presented during the Missouri Hospital Association’s 97th Annual Convention & Trade Show this week. CoxHealth’s Auxiliary is marking its 70th anniversary this year. A reception to celebrate the award and anniversary will be held November 22 from 10 a.m. – noon at Cox South’s Foster Auditorium.
CoxHealth adds new pediatric specialty
Beginning next week, pediatric oncology and hematology services will be available at CoxHealth. Dr. Alok Kothari will treat children who have cancer or blood disorders, preventing the need for many Ozarks families to travel to other cities for care. This service is offered in connection with St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where Dr. Kothari is employed. Dr. Kothari’s first clinic visits in Springfield are Nov. 12 and 13.
Cox Barton County achieves DNV-GL accreditation
Cox Barton County Hospital has achieved accreditation from DNV GL – Healthcare. The accreditation means that the hospital meets or exceeds patient safety standards (Conditions of Participation) set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
New Cox Monett Hospital update
Construction crews erected the first steel beams on the new Cox Monett Hospital this week. You can see the first beams being set in place on this short video clip.
