Quality Care

Cox Barton County Hospital was named a “best practice” for quality hospitals by the Chartis Center for Rural Health for two consecutive years. The designation is part of the National Rural Health Association's (NRHA) 2023 Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals program. Cox Barton County Hospital is the only critical access hospital (CAH) in Missouri to be named a Top 20 recipient for quality. A critical access hospital designation is given to rural hospitals by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to reduce the financial vulnerability of rural hospitals and improve access to health care.

Communication

Cox Barton County Hospital and Cox Monett Hospital received five stars for nurse communication from Becker's Hospital Review, a national publication in the health care industry.

Patient Experience

Becker’s Hospital Review recognized Cox Barton County Hospital as one of the top 5% of all hospitals in the nation for patient experience.
