CoxHealth ambulatory, outpatient locations earn national IT recognition

CoxHealth has achieved Stage 6, the stage of adoption prior to the final Stage 7, for the implementation of electronic medical records in ambulatory and outpatient settings.

HIMSS Analytics announced the achievement this week. The agency tracks progress among U.S. health systems in completing eight stages (0-7) of the electronic patient record implementation model. CoxHealth hospitals previously achieved Stage 6.

HIMSS Analytics says Stage 6 ambulatory facilities and hospitals are on the forefront of EMR implementation. The achievement is considered to be an important indicator that CoxHealth provides high quality patient care and is addressing current industry federal requirements.
