Approximately 610,000 of these are first attacks and 1 out of 4 are recurrent attacks.</p><p data-block-key="8urh">Stroke is a leading cause of serious long-term disability in the US.</p><p data-block-key="8euq6">Global prevalence of stroke in 2017 was 104.2 million.
