'Thank you heroes' rooftop banner honors our caregivers

The last few months have been an especially trying time in health care, and have shown the strength of caregivers like never before.

As we continue to work through COVID-19, the CoxHealth Morale Team is moving forward with a number of projects designed to boost the spirits of our team members.

One of our latest additions is a 26-foot-long banner (shown above), positioned on top of Cox South, where it can be seen from the break rooms in our COVID units.

We are seeking staff musicians to volunteer for our morale efforts

Calling all CoxHealth instrumental musicians: Would you like to lend your talents to boost morale for our colleagues?

As part of Incident Command's ongoing morale efforts, we are seeking CoxHealth employees to volunteer to provide live music in designated common spaces to give everyone a mood boost.

Volunteers will plan to come in a little early or stay a little late around a scheduled shift and share 10-15 minutes of live, instrumental music with your colleagues and our patients.

If you are a staff member who plays an instrument such as piano, guitar, or other stringed instruments, we want to hear from you.

SFC Bank sponsors 'thank you' signs for health care workers

To say thank you to caregivers, SFC Bank is sending a sign – literally – to CoxHealth employees for their dedication and service to local communities. The bank has donated 5,000 signs that say "Thank you, Health Care Heroes" and are available for CoxHealth employees in Springfield to pick up and display in their yards.

"SFC Bank is especially grateful for the time, energy and expertise given by these front line workers and those that support them." says Monte McNew, CEO of SFC Bank. "It is important to let the community see who they are and to recognize that the work they continue to do is keeping our community healthy, safe and continually prepared for whatever COVID-19 continues to hand us."

The gift was made through the CoxHealth Foundation, which is working to coordinate gifts of appreciation for health care workers.

"We so appreciate the generosity of SFC Bank in recognizing that the staff at CoxHealth in this way," says Lisa Alexander, president of the CoxHealth Foundation. "These signs don't only show words. They show support and commitment to our health care workers and allow the community to recognize it when they see these proudly displayed."

Signs are available for pick-up by employees in Springfield at Cox South at the information desks in the West Pavilion and West Tower, in the lobbies of Wheeler and Hulston, at Cox North at the Outpatient Entrance and at the CoxHealth Foundation's office in the Medical South building. Signs are now available in Administration at Cox Monett, Cox Branson and Cox Barton County. One per employee, please.
