Knot Forgotten offers way to honor loved ones

During the holiday season, many look for ways to remember loved ones, and the CoxHealth Foundation’s Knot Forgotten program offers a heartfelt way to share that love and support.

Through Knot Forgotten, Christmas trees will be adorned with “knots” (bows) in honor or memory of patients. Bows are procured for patients affected by cancer but can include any cause that a loved one would like to honor.

Every bow will have a card attached with the donor’s name, as well as the name of each honoree. Red bows are available in memory of individuals; gold bows in celebration; or silver, which honor caregivers. If desired, one can also add a special message with words of encouragement.

Small bows are $10, and large ones are $50. They may be purchased through Dec. 31 at Allenbrand Resource Center inside Hulston Cancer Center, in the north lobby and in the West Pavilion lobby of Cox South, or online. Trees are displayed at Cox South’s north lobby and West Pavilion, and in Hulston Cancer Center.

Proceeds benefit the Glauser Oncology Fund’s Patient Advocacy Program, which helps patients with free medications, travel assistance, nutritional supplements and supportive medical care in the hospital and at home.
