Springfield’s first hospital birth in 2017 is a girl
The first birth of 2017 came early: At 12:37 a.m. on Jan. 1, Evva Hope Chamberlin arrived, becoming Springfield’s first hospital birth of the new year.
She weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and measured 19.5 inches long.
Her parents are Jeff and Kezra Chamberlin, who traveled from their home in Branson for their new baby’s arrival at Cox South. Evva is the third child in the family, joining big sisters Emma Grace, 4, and Ella Faith, 2.
A few hours after the birth, the Chamberlins agree that the experience has been a good one. “The nursing staff is awesome,” says Jeff, a sentiment echoed by Kezra. “They’ve just been over the top,” she says.
CoxHealth presented a gift basket, themed around the children’s book “Goodnight Moon,” to the family. It included a growth chart, photo album, baby blanket, a fuzzy, stuffed bear, and copy of “Goodnight Moon,” all of which were delivered in a woven basket.
