One in three women experience pelvic floor disorders, which include postpartum muscle weakness, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary or bowel incontinence, pelvic pressure and heaviness, pain with intercourse, and pelvic pain. While these conditions are common, they are not normal, and there are things that can be done to improve them.
Avenues for improvement will be shared in a new, free class CoxHealth is offering in Springfield. The classes will teach women about pelvic issues, core muscles, treatment options and more.
Classes will be held every other month, and the first one is scheduled for Jan. 30 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Women throughout the community are invited to attend the classes, and do not need to be a patient at CoxHealth to attend. To register, please call 417-269-LADY.
