Vein-based disease – causing achy, heavy tired legs, varicose veins and spider veins – is a painful part of life for some people, but there are ways to make it better.

On Oct. 20, the community is invited to a free vein screening and presentation to learn more about how to improve their quality of life. The screening includes a brief presentation on venous disease, a screening ultrasound, and a consult with a vascular surgeon to answer any questions participants may have.

The event will be held at Wheeler Heart and Vascular Center (3800 S. National Ave., Springfield). Various time slots are available between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. To register, please call 417-269-7444.
