CoxHealth nationally recognized as a ‘best employer’
Forbes has recognized CoxHealth as one of America’s Best Employers in 2019. The first-ever ranking by Forbes of the top employers by state has CoxHealth as No. 18 in Missouri out of all industry types, the No. 3 health system in Missouri out of 156 hospitals in the state, and the No. 1 best health care employer in southwest Missouri. The list is based on results of an independent survey of more than 80,000 employees across the nation who ranked companies based on their likelihood to recommend the employer, and work-related topics such as working conditions, salary, professional development and company image.
New CoxHealth app
The new CoxHealthNow app is available for download for iPhone and Android. With the app, patients can start a Virtual Visit, find a provider, pay a bill or check medications. Other features include health tools, a symptom checker, healthy recipes and more.
Cox South hosts Congressman to discuss opioids, employee safety
U.S. Rep. Billy Long visited Cox South this week to discuss employee safety and the opioid epidemic. CoxHealth leaders in security, emergency rooms and addiction services shared what they are seeing in regard to these issues and possible solutions.
CoxHealth offers free and low cost sports physicals
On July 16 and July 29 CoxHealth is offering sports physicals on our CARE Mobile, a clinic on wheels, for only $10, and free for families with Medicaid, no insurance or students who qualify for free and reduced lunches.
CoxHealth Legacy: Burge became Cox 50 years ago
Fifty years ago this week, Burge Protestant Hospital was renamed in honor of Lester E. Cox. The local civic and business leader led the hospital for 20 years and helped it grow from nearly closing in the 1940s to the leading medical institution that is CoxHealth today.
