CoxHealth completes successful NRC review

CoxHealth departments that handle radioactive sources for medical purposes completed a successful review this week by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The CoxHealth Radiation Center and Nuclear Medicine department are licensed through the NRC and are subject to these surprise inspections. NRC surveyors reviewed our safety protocols and observed some procedures. The NRC team was very complimentary of our staff and our safety program and found no violations.

$1 million grant to support opioid abuse recovery, education in rural areas

CoxHealth Foundation has secured a $1 million federal grant to combat opioid abuse in rural areas of the Ozarks. The grant money will allow CoxHealth and several other agencies in the area to fund various programs focused on education, prevention, treatment and recovery support services.

CoxHealth welcomes new physicians

Four physicians have joined Cox Medical Group and will be seeing patients in four specialties in Springfield, Monett and Branson: Brian Biggers, MD, Ferrell-Duncan Clinic General Surgery; Megan Carter, MD, Cox Monett Emergency Department; Natalie Hyppolite, DO, CoxHealth Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Branson; and Mark Mandelbaum, MD, CoxHealth Pain & Neurology Branson.

Dedication for new military tribute wall at Cox South

In support for the many veterans and active duty military members in the Ozarks, CoxHealth is installing a display in Cox South’s North Entrance lobby to honor their dedication and sacrifice. A short ceremony is being planned to dedicate the military tribute wall.

Leadership change

Abby Craigmyle has been selected as CoxHealth’s next vice president of Corporate Compliance, effective April 1. Abby will replace Betty Breshears, who is retiring after 33 years at CoxHealth.

Cox College to open satellite campuses in Branson and Monett

Cox College will be expanding its footprint in Missouri with satellite campuses in Branson and Monett. Initially, programs at both locations will be made up of 10 ASN students that will begin night and weekend courses in January of 2021.
