CoxHealth to open urgent care in Ozark

April 5, 2017 Newsroom, Springfield

In just a few short weeks, Ozark and the surrounding area will have a new access point for health care.

CoxHealth Ozark Urgent Care will soon open to treat illnesses and injuries that should be addressed right away, but aren’t severe enough for a trip to the Emergency Room.

“We’ve seen a consistent rise in patients at our urgent cares in Springfield and Branson, so we’re adding a new facility to better serve our patients,” says Amanda Hedgpeth, vice president of Clinical Services at CoxHealth. “This way, patients in the area will be able to receive this kind of health care closer to their homes. We wanted to make care even more convenient for them.”

The new facility, which is slated to open by June, will address non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries such as cuts and lacerations, minor burns, allergic reactions, infections, fractures, and eye injuries. It will be staffed by board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners, and specially trained support staff. No appointments will be necessary, and it will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to the urgent care, Cox Health Center Ozark will relocate to the same facility in the coming weeks.

Patients may call 417-269-INFO for more information about the urgent care.
