CoxHealth adds six new physicians in September

In September, CoxHealth welcomes six new physicians at its Springfield, Branson and Monett campuses.

Erik Martin, M.D., F.A.C.E.P., joins Cox Monett’s Emergency Department. Martin graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and completed his residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga.

Lisa Lemons, D.O., joins Cox Medical Center/Psychiatry and will be practicing at Cox Branson. Lemons earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in California, and completed her residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Oregon.

Eunice Asare-Bawuah, M.D., joins Springfield Inpatient Physicians. Asare-Bawuah graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi and completed residency at Meharry Medical College in Tennessee.

Nicole Kucera, D.O., joins CoxHealth’s Pediatric Center. Kucera graduated from Oklahoma State University, and completed residency at Osteopathic Medical Education Consortium of Oklahoma.

Khushbu Shukla, M.D., joins CoxHealth Newborn Medicine Specialists. Shukla graduated from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Medical College, and competed residency at Texas A&M University. She also completed her Fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Women and Infant’s Hospital of Rhode Island, Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Timi Akins, M.D., joins Ferrell-Duncan Clinic at CoxHealth. Akins completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C., after graduating from Howard University College of Medicine, also in Washington D.C. He completed his fellowship in Nephrology at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C.
