Bass elected President of Missouri Hospital Association’s Southwest District Council
Dr. Darren Bass, president of Cox Monett Hospital, was elected to a one-year term as President of the Missouri Hospital Association’s Southwest District Council. His term began Jan. 1.
As District Council President, Bass will be responsible for presiding over council meetings and guiding discussions on association policies and activities. One of six MHA district council presidents, he will direct input from council members on national, state and regional health care policies to the MHA Board of Trustees.
“We are pleased to have someone with Darren’s experience assume this important leadership role,” said Herb B Kuhn, MHA President and CEO.
Bass has been employed with Cox Monett for 17 years. He began his career in health care as a physical therapist at Cox Monett Rehab and Sports Medicine. In 2012, Bass joined the hospital’s senior leader team, and two years later was named executive director. In 2015, he was selected to lead the hospital.
Bass resides in Monett with his wife, Kari. They have two children—Tyler and Lauren.
The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 145 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public about health care issues.
