The Women's Center in Springfield

Located on the ground floor of the Turner Center, the Women's Center in Springfield has many resources to help you prepare for your growing family and to receive breastfeeding support. You’ll also find The Milestone Boutique, featuring baby and lactation supplies, and the Joyce Schwandt Library where you can browse our free selection of books available to all CoxHealth patients. Topics include pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, parenting, infertility, loss, adoption, surrogacy, postpartum care, fatherhood, menopause, cancer, Alzheimer’s, and more—including board books for kids and families.

Resources Available at the Women's Center in Springfield

  • Lactation Consultations

    If you are experiencing any difficulties with breastfeeding, call us to set up a lactation consultation with one of our lactation consultants. We want to be sure you have a positive experience during your breastfeeding journey.

  • Pregnant women in an expectant family class

    Expectant Family Classes

    We offer many expectant family classes to help you feel confident as you prepare for baby. Registration is required. Register for classes in week 20-25 for the best availability.

    The Lactation Club Breastfeeding Support Group

    Breastfeeding or pumping moms are welcome to join with their babies. Partners are not included. Stop by for a baby weight check, get support from our lactation consultants, or connect with other moms. No registration needed.

    Sign up for our free app to access helpful articles, videos, and tools covering pregnancy, labor and birth, postpartum care, newborn tips, and breastfeeding support.

    Incentive Based Quit Smoking/Vaping Program

    Quit smoking to protect your baby, feel healthier, and earn free diapers. Join our free smoking cessation program during pregnancy or up to three months postpartum. Complete four sessions and get a case of diapers each month until your baby turns one. Call The Women’s Center to join.

    Free online support groups and help lines are available to help you through postpartum depression & anxiety.

    Schedule an appointment with our Trauma Services department a few weeks before delivery to check the installation of your car seat.

    Low Intervention Birthing Suite

    We have two low intervention birthing suites at Cox South for families that desire an unmedicated birthing experience. Talk to your doctor to make sure you meet the low-risk criteria and to get a verification form filled out. Attending a childbirth class is also required to use one of these rooms.
