Nancy Cathey’s Two Decades of Making a Difference
For more than two decades, Nancy Cathey has been a steady force of compassion at CoxHealth—both in her professional role and through her charitable giving.
Nancy began her journey 24 years ago as director of the Women’s Center, where she and her team worked closely with the CoxHealth Foundation to plan and host women’s events to raise money for patient needs. Over time, she moved into clinic operations, where her connection with patients took on a new dynamic. But through every role, one thing stayed the same: her desire to help others.
She found a new way to make an impact by donating through the CoxHealth Foundation.
“I was not in the same capacity with the patients like I was before in the Women’s Center, and I found that I can still support them by donating through the CoxHealth Foundation,” she said.
For Nancy, donating is a way to continue supporting patients even when she’s not directly involved in their care. It’s a practical way to make a difference—helping meet needs she sees every day in health care. Giving through the CoxHealth Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) lets her be part of that support system.
“The Employee Giving Campaign is also a great way to give back. It is easy with the option for the paycheck deduction to CMN—it is a seamless process to give back,” she said.
Even in her current role as a service line director, Cathey remains a strong example of philanthropy in the health care community.
“All of us see patients in health care at some type of capacity that have needs. This helps at a level that we can do together, and we could not do what we do without the CoxHealth Foundation."
