Cox Barton County Hospital Recognized Nationally for Stroke Imaging Innovation
Cox Barton County Hospital has been featured in Becker's Hospital Review, a leading national health care publication, for its advancements in stroke care through improved imaging workflow.
The hospital was highlighted for its strategic approach to revamping stroke imaging protocols by bundling CT (computed tomography) and CTA (computed tomography angiography) scans into one streamlined process. This innovation enhances the speed and accuracy of diagnosis, an especially critical factor in rural health care where timely treatment can dramatically impact patient outcomes.
The initiative is part of Cox Barton's ongoing participation in the American Heart Association's Rural Health Care Outcomes Accelerator, a national program that supports rural hospitals with expert education, peer collaboration, and evidence-based tools to improve patient care.
"We're not just improving a process, we're redefining what stroke care can look like in a rural setting," says Dr. Jeremy Sturgell, medical director of the Cox Barton ER and the hospital's Time Critical Diagnosis program. "This recognition reinforces our commitment to using innovation and collaboration to deliver exceptional care."
Through strategic partnerships and a forward-thinking approach, the hospital is ensuring that patients in rural communities receive timely, high-quality care close to home.
