Nine physicians to join CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency

CoxHealth is pleased to announce that nine new resident physicians will join the CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency program in 2017.

The physicians, representing a variety of medical schools, officially begin on June 16 and will serve patients at the Family Medical Care Center.

The 2017 class includes:

Lauren Branham, DO, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences

Evan Branscum, MD, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

James Brecheisen, MD, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

Trevor Conner, DO, Oklahoma State University

Josh Gaede, MD, University of Kansas

Kyle Gillett, MD, University of Kansas

Brian Kennedy, MD University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

Kelsey Layman DO, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences

Kayla Matzek, MD, University of Missouri

The CoxHealth-based residency program is one of its kind in the Springfield area. Established in 1987, the program helps fill both a local and nationwide need for Family Medicine physicians. It also helps physicians develop the diverse skills necessary to thrive in any practice setting, and gain substantial experience in maternity care and inpatient training.
