COVID-19 update
Our number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 continues to trend in a worrisome direction. We are currently at 54 patients across our system, and 13% rolling positivity rate for the past seven days, which is significantly higher than a couple of weeks ago. We have plans in place to address needs for care if this continues to increase, and are closely watching to see how the entrance of the omicron variant may also ultimately impact cases locally. However, we hope and wish these plans won’t be needed. National attention was again on Springfield this week through The Washington Post, which published an article on the variants’ presence and impact.

It may sound like a broken record, but we continue to stress the importance and value of vaccinations. Especially as we mark a year from the first vaccinations, waning immunity makes it more important than ever for booster shots, not to mention initial doses for those who have yet to receive any protection. To schedule a vaccination appointment with us for any dose, adult or pediatric, call 417-269-1300.

COVID rehab program

Unfortunately, we are seeing patients in our community with extended symptoms after contracting COVID. To help serve these patients, we are offering rehab services that target the specific issues that they are facing. To hear about two patients’ experiences, please click here to watch a video about the program.

Knot Forgotten

Our annual Knot Forgotten program is now underway. Bows (“knots”) may be purchased in honor or memory of individuals who are facing health challenges, which are then displayed on trees at our campuses in Springfield and Branson. The funds raised then support our patients through the CoxHealth Foundation and the Skaggs Foundation. For more information, click here.

Voice of the Patient

From patient feedback at the Cox Branson Emergency Department: “I am scared of hospitals and doctors, so much so it brings me to tears. The nurses and doctors and other staff made me feel so comfortable. They were all super friendly.”

Thanks for all you do,

Steve
