CoxHealth expands rapid COVID-19 testing in select locations

CoxHealth is expanding its rapid COVID-19 testing capabilities, giving patients results in as little as 20 minutes in select locations.

“We have considered new testing options as technology and capabilities have expanded, as we want to offer testing to our patients that is quick, but most importantly, accurate,” says Ashley Kimberling Casad, vice president of Clinical Services. “We feel confident in this technology, and are pleased to expand our abilities to provide results even more quickly.”

The rapid testing option is only available in select situations, and under direction from a health care provider. It will primarily be used in urgent care settings. CoxHealth already has rapid testing available for inpatients when necessary. For the majority of COVID-19 testing at CoxHealth, results are available on average in 32 hours.
