CoxHealth adds virtual Oncology Support Group

Undergoing cancer – or walking alongside someone who is – can be a very stressful, life-changing experience. To help provide a space where people can learn and grow together, and provide education and social support, CoxHealth has launched an Oncology Support Group that meets monthly in a virtual format.

Patients, family members, and loved ones touched by any type of cancer are welcome to join the group. They may just listen, share experiences, hear from others, and connect with friends, family and oncology staff. It is free to participate, and being a CoxHealth patient isn’t required.

In addition to general conversation, upcoming topics include outpatient palliative care, provider Q &A, pastoral care and nutrition.

The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Patients may register no later than the second Monday of the month by calling 417-269-5257 (option 5).
