28th annual Medical Mile and 5K run/walk set for June 1

Runners will soon race down National Avenue during the 28^th annual Medical Mile and 5K run/walk on Saturday, June 1.

The longtime event, which benefits Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at CoxHealth, will be held rain or shine. This year’s event also features a team challenge, which is offered for groups of 10 or more.

In addition to the race, the morning’s activities include:

· an awards ceremony at 8:30 a.m.

· refreshments for participants after the race

· interactive booths and games

· kid-friendly characters

Medals will be awarded to males and females in each age division for first, second and third places. Results for both events will be available after the race atozarkracingsystems.com.

Participants may register at any CoxHealth Fitness Centers location or online. Registration at the event is also available.

Pre-registration fees begin at $25 for children 14 and younger, $30 for adults and $90 for families. T-shirts will be given to the first 800 people who pick up their packets.
