Library Services maintains a virtual library to support CoxHealth physicians, employees and affiliates by providing access to gold standard evidence-based resources.
CoxHealth physicians, employees, students, patients and their families may use Library Services.
The Joyce Schwandt Library (The Women's Center) is available for patients and their families.
Library databases, online books and other resources are available through theLibrary Service'spage on CoxHealth.com.
A login is not needed when subscription resources are accessed on the Cox employee network.
Off campus access is available to Cox employees for most resources with a login. See Access Library Resources outside of Cox (must be on Cox network to access). Employees may also email Library Services to request the current login. Requests received from a personal email address will only be emailed to the requestor's Cox address.
Professional reference librarians are available to assist in obtaining health care information for CoxHealth physicians, employees, students, patients and their families.
Access to e-books, journals, databases and other electronic resources are available from computers on the Cox network, including the computer labs at Cox College.
Training in use of library resources, and orientations are available for individuals or groups. Contact Library Services to schedule training appointments.
Health care professionals may request a literature search for patient care or hospital business.
A listing of applicable references will emailed to the requestor. When available, a link to the full text article will be provided for each reference. Users may request copies of articles not available full text.
Requests for reprints may be submitted online using theJournal Article Request form, by e-mail or phone.
Library Services will make every attempt to obtain reprints of requested materials. Reprints will be obtained from in-house resources or through Interlibrary Loan.
Delivery of materials is through Cox e-mail. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
CoxWorks serves as a digital institutional repository (IR) created to preserve the scholarly work of the institutions’ employees, faculty and students. An IR complements initiatives and programs such as Magnet, Cox residency programs, Cox College graduate programs, and future academic developments.
