MyChart FAQs

MyChart is a secure, online patient portal that gives you access to your health records, test results, appointment scheduling, and direct communication with your care team. MyChart is available via web browser and mobile app.  

With MyChart, you can: 

• See your medical records, visit notes, and more from multiple providers and health care systems 
• Stay connected during your hospital stay with MyChart Bedside and view your care team, daily schedule, test results, and educational resources
• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments 
• Check-in and register for visits

The easiest way to sign up is during your next clinic visit. Ask your care team to help you get set up before you leave. You can also call our MyChart Help Desk at 417-269-1200 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.) and a team member will walk you through it.

No letter? No problem. The quickest way to get started is to ask your care team at your next visit — they can set you up on the spot. You can also call the MyChart Help Desk at 417-269-1200 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.) for help creating your account.

Visit mychart.coxhealth.com or open the MyChart app. Enter your username and password to access your account. If you haven't logged in before, you'll need to activate your account first. Request an activation email from your provider's office or call our MyChart Help Desk at 417-269-1200 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.) and a team member will walk you through it.

On the MyChart login page, select "Forgot Password." Follow the steps to reset it using your email address or username. If you run into trouble, call the MyChart Help Desk at 417-269-1200 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.).

Check your spam or junk folder first. Some phone carriers may also block automated text messages. If you find the code in spam, mark it as safe so future codes come through. If you still aren't receiving it, call the MyChart Help Desk at 417-269-1200 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.).

Yes. You can give family access to a trusted person. Parents or guardians can have access to a child’s chart until age 18. Learn more about family access in MyChart.

MyChart messaging works well for non-urgent questions — things that don't need a same-day response. For urgent concerns, call your clinic directly. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

A few things to know before you message:

• Response time. Your care team monitors MyChart during regular hours. Allow up to two business days for a reply.
• Established patients only. You can message providers you've seen within the last two years. A surgical or specialist consult doesn't qualify — you need an ongoing care relationship.
• CoxHealth providers only. MyChart messaging is only available for providers on the CoxHealth network. Non-CoxHealth providers in your chart aren't available to message here.
• Outpatient providers only. You can't message providers who cared for you during a hospital stay.
• Your messages are part of your record. All members of your care team may see them.

Yes! Download the MyChart app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and log in using your credentials. 

Your records moved over when CoxHealth transitioned to MyChart. You'll find most of your history already in your account. Looking for care notes from before March 1? Those didn't move to the Notes section, but you can find them under Documents Activity > My Documents. If you think something is missing, call the MyChart Help Desk at 417-269-1200 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.).

Yes. If your provider has assigned you a health tracking flowsheet, you can connect MyChart to Apple Health, Google Fit, or Health Connect to automatically pull in data from other health or fitness apps and devices. In the MyChart mobile app, open Track My Health, select "Link account," choose the app you want to connect, and select the data you'd like to share. Recent data already stored in the app syncs to MyChart automatically.

You can link your accounts using MyChart which will allow you to see health information from multiple health care systems in one place.
