Diabetes Classes

CoxHealth offers support and education for everyone with type 1, type 2, gestational and prediabetes.

Classes are taught by CDEs, RNs, RDs and Licensed Professional Counselors. For classes that require a doctor's order, we can contact your doctor to request one.

Please call for class dates and times, and information on classes available at each location. Payment for classes may be covered by Medicare, private pay or insurance. Grant/scholarship money is available for those who qualify.

Diabetes Self-Management

A ten-hour comprehensive class that covers everything about managing your condition, from diagnosis to meal planning. Physician referral is required. Talk to your provider about whether this class is right for you.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

A one-on-one session with a registered dietitian. Physician referral is required. Ask your provider for more information.

Gestational Diabetes Education

We tailor this program to meet your specific needs. Physician referral is required, so talk to your provider if you're interested.

Prediabetes Management

This class covers healthy eating, exercise and weight management. Talk to your provider about getting a referral for this class.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring

Wear a monitor for at least a week. Our diabetes professionals will download the data to help you manage your blood sugar. Physician referral is required. Talk to your doctor to find out more.

Support Groups

Share your experiences and learn from others who have diabetes. Groups are led by diabetes educators. Call for more information.

Diabetes Prevention Program
