John Bohon, DO

Howdy! My name is John Bohon. I grew up in Kirksville, MO, alongside my parents and two younger brothers. I enjoyed the community so much that I remained in the area to attend Truman State University for my undergraduate education. I then made the long trek up to the north part of town to attend A.T. Still University for my medical education. My wife, Parker, and I met while volunteering at a youth Christian organization during college. We moved to Springfield—where Parker is originally from—in the summer of 2024 and welcomed our daughter, Lachlan, to the world in August 2025. On this earth, those two girls are the most important people to me.

My father taught me early on that the relationships we hold with others matter deeply. My passion is people. I think Family Medicine is the single greatest option for a doctor to take care of individuals across all ages and stages of life. My current interests include pediatrics, men's health, lifestyle medicine, sports medicine, and osteopathic manipulative medicine. I am largely concerned, however, with acquiring the necessary skills to meet any of my community's healthcare needs.

CoxHealth FMR is full of great folks who are committed to making me a well-rounded physician and supporting me in my role as a husband and father. I am very pleased to complete my training here in Springfield and remain near family. During my free time, I like to be at the lake or out in the woods doing a number of different outdoor activities.
