Dagen Jones, MD

Hello! My name is Dagen Jones. I was raised in Thayer, MO, a small town just north of the Missouri-Arkansas border. Growing up, I spent most of my free time enjoying the outdoors and playing any sport I could. After high school, I attended University of Missouri – Columbia (M-I-Z!) where I played lots of intramural sports, watched many Mizzou games, worked as a scribe at Missouri Orthopedic Institute, and ultimately earned my Bachelor of Health Science.

I was offered the opportunity to stay at Mizzou for medical school. I completed my first 2 years at the main campus in Columbia, then I transferred to Mizzou’s Springfield Clinical Campus to complete the final two years of clinical training. Now, I’m thrilled to spend the next few years growing and serving with the Family Medicine Residency at CoxHealth in Springfield, MO.

I chose family medicine because of the broad scope of training, the emphasis on lifestyle medicine principles, building relationships with patients, and having continuity of care. One of my particular interests within family medicine is sports medicine. I also enjoy doing anything procedural.

Outside of medicine, you’ll find me sharing life with my incredible fiancée, spending time with our friends and family, playing or watching sports (big surprise, right?), and enjoying the outdoors…usually wherever there’s water. I look forward to all the memories and relationships to be made in the coming years!
