Andrew Farrell, DO
Hello! My name is Andrew Farrell, and I am from Republic, Missouri. Growing up, I played soccer until graduating high school and enjoyed camping around Table Rock Lake with my family. I attended Washington University in St. Louis, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Anthropology with a focus on Global Health and the Environment. I then completed medical school at Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine – Joplin campus.
I was first drawn to family medicine while working alongside a family medicine physician during a mission trip to Panama and seeing how she interacted with her patients, seeking to meet all their needs despite the barriers they faced. Throughout medical school, my favorite rotations were in family medicine, and I saw the benefits patients had from having a primary care physician for many years. I desired to form similar relationships with my patients and work proactively with them to improve their health. Spending a few weeks with CoxHealth confirmed to me that these goals would be met in a fully supportive environment that would challenge me to be the best physician I can be.
Outside of medicine, I continue to follow soccer leagues around the world and enjoy watching NFL games with my family each week (go Broncos!). I also enjoy cooking new recipes and trying new local restaurants. I'm looking forward to continuing my training by returning to the Springfield area!
