Meet Our Chief Resident Physicians
Maggie Baker, MD, Co-Chief Resident Physician
Cox Family Medicine Residency has welcomed me with open arms from the moment I met them at the Future Conference in Kansas City. Faculty, staff, administration, and residents alike are friendly, approachable, and always willing to go the extra mile to help out. While navigating the couples' match, this program has made scheduling and adapting to the needs of residents as painless as possible. The environment is highly collaborative with extensive thought put into blending didactics, clinical experiences, humanities, and professional development throughout each block. There is vast community support, and an extensive network of alumni always willing to help you cultivate the specific skills you will need to be successful in any sect of family medicine you choose to pursue. I am honored to be part of the legacy of amazing physicians Cox FMR has helped train and highly recommend this program to anyone interested in family medicine.
Austin Bell, MD, Co-Chief Resident Physician
I wanted to train at the CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency because of its strong and supportive culture. I was drawn to the program’s broad scope of training and the opportunity to gain the skills and confidence needed to practice full-spectrum family medicine. What stood out most during the interview process was the promise that this program would not only shape me into a better physician, but also help me become a better person. I know my time at CoxHealth will prepare me to provide compassionate and high-quality care to my community.
Kelsey Ellis, DO, Co-Chief Resident Physician
I was drawn to CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency because it felt genuine from the start. What stood out was not just the breadth of training, but the way people here show up for each other with humility, encouragement, and a shared commitment to growth. This program has challenged me to think critically, care deeply, and continuously improve, all while feeling supported every step of the way. I am proud to train in a place that values both excellent medicine and the people who practice it.
