CoxHealth to open new clinic and urgent care at Sunshine and National

CoxHealth will soon be opening its newest clinic, which will offer patients of all ages a convenient experience with better access to care in the heart of Springfield.

The new CoxHealth Advantage Care clinic, as well as a new urgent care, will be located at the corner of Sunshine St. and National Ave., in a new facility called the Hamra Center.

“Advantage Care clinic offers patients a multi-disciplinary care team, with basic lab and X-ray services, all in one place,” says Brock Shamel, senior vice president of Cox Medical Group. “This is particularly significant when you’re considering the senior population, where this convenience could lead to better outcomes and hopefully keep those patients out of the hospital.”

Senior patients will have access to primary care, on-site radiology and lab services, and more. The urgent care will be open every day for 12 hours to serve patients of all ages.

“With an aging population, we felt it was important to invest in this and ensure patients are going to the right care setting. This will help us work better with this patient population and educate them on preventative care to keep them healthier for longer,” says Shamel.
