Cox South, Cox Branson and Cox Monett have been recognized with “Get With the Guidelines” awards by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The awards reflect the hospitals’ commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines tied to the latest scientific evidence.

“We’re always working to improve our patients’ experiences and outcomes, so these awards mean a great deal to us,” says Grace Potter, stroke coordinator at CoxHealth. “Timely, appropriate care is crucial for recovery after a stroke, so being recognized for the level of care we give is truly an honor.”

- Cox South earned the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus.

- Cox Branson earned the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite.

- Cox Monett earned the 2018 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award.

The hospitals earned the awards by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period. Additionally, patients should receive education on managing their health and get a follow-up visit scheduled, as well as other care transition interventions, before discharge.
