DAISY Award Honoree - Kyla Blinzler

Blinzler honored for going above and beyond for her patient
We’re excited to share that we have another honoree for the 2025 DAISY Foundation Award!
This national recognition celebrates nurses who go the extra mile for their patients.
At Cox Monett, we see how the smallest gestures can create the biggest impact.
Recently, a pediatric patient was being flown to Kansas City by helicopter, and unfortunately, the child's grandmother didn’t have a bag to pack the child's belongings. She was thinking of sending her husband home to grab a trash bag.
That’s when Kyla Blinzler, RN, stepped in. She overheard the situation and decided to help. Kyla went to the hospital gift shop and bought a lovely large bag herself, ensuring everything could be packed safely and with dignity.
As it turned out, only ONE large bag was allowed on the helicopter, making Kyla’s thoughtful gesture even more special. The grandmother was beyond grateful that everything fit so nicely, taking away at least one worry during a stressful time.
Congratulations! Let’s all join in celebrating Kyla for her incredible kindness and dedication to her patients and their families.
