DAISY Award Honoree - Christine Wilson

We’re excited to highlight another 2025 DAISY Award honoree! 

This national recognition celebrates nurses who go the extra mile for their patients.  

In moments of crisis, the true measure of a nurse shines. Christine Wilson, RN, demonstrated courage, compassion, and unwavering advocacy for a family facing a sudden medical emergency. This nomination tells their story. 

“Our world was completely shattered when my wife was admitted to the Critical Care Unit at Cox Medical Center Branson with diabetic ketoacidosis. She had always been perfectly healthy, and none of us even knew she had diabetes. The shock, fear, and uncertainty we felt were overwhelming. During this crisis, Christine became our anchor, our advocate, and our guide. She didn’t just see a patient in crisis; she saw a family in shock and treated us as essential members of the care team. She welcomed input from my mother-in-law, who is also a registered nurse, and my sister-in-law, actively listening to their suggestions and including us in my wife’s care. Christine’s sharp clinical skills and fierce advocacy truly protected my wife. Whenever subtle changes occurred, she immediately and confidently raised concerns with the physicians, serving as a faithful guardian at her bedside. 

Christine’s actions were a masterclass in CoxHealth values:
