Game on: Sports Medicine arrives in Branson

CoxHealth is broadening its orthopedics and sports medicine program by launching a dedicated sports medicine walk-in clinic in Branson. Under the direction of Dr. Jackson Bagby, this new service will provide the community with enhanced access to specialized care close to home.

Dr. Bagby grew up in northwest Arkansas and went on to earn a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Neuromusculoskeletal Science before graduating from the CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency. During fellowship training, he served as a team physician for the University of Nebraska and Creighton University athletic teams, gaining practical expertise caring for players and treating a variety of sports-related injuries.

His passion for sports medicine began at an early age after suffering a knee injury. This experience allowed him to understand how injuries can sideline young athletes, as he witnessed friends facing similar challenges. This ignited his desire to want to help patients of all ages.

“I know what it's like to be on the sidelines when all you want to do is get back in the game,” says Dr. Bagby. “That's why I'm committed to helping patients recover from injuries, prevent future issues, and stay active in the sports and activities they love to do.”

The CoxHealth Orthopedic and Sports Medicine office, located in the Branson Cahill Clinic, 121 Cahill Road, Suite 206, treats a diverse range of patients, from student athletes and weekend warriors to adults dealing with everyday aches and injuries. Patients can be seen by a physician, often the same day as an injury occurs, without having to wait weeks for an appointment.

The new walk-in clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Quick access to care helps injuries heal properly and gets patients back to the activities they love.

“The best care is informed care,” says Dr. Bagby. “I strive to educate my patients during their visits by going through images, discussing affected structures, and outlining both short-term and long-term goals for each injury. Much like in sports, medicine works best when everyone is on the same team.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Bagby enjoys spending time with his family, playing the drums, and golfing — activities that keep him balanced and connected to an active lifestyle.

With Dr. Bagby’s expertise, a close relationship with local athletic trainers, and the growing orthopedics team of Drs. Chad Efird and Patrick Finkbone, the new sports medicine walk-in clinic is poised to elevate the standard of care in the community, helping patients move, heal, and thrive.
