Rural patients gain local access to physical medicine and rehabilitation care

Cox Barton County Hospital is expanding access to specialized care with the addition of Dr. Cary Marquis, a physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr. Marquis completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He focuses on helping patients reduce pain and restore function without the need for surgical intervention.

Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry, takes a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to care that treats the whole person. Physiatrists work with patients to address physical limitations caused by injury, pain or the effects of time, helping them regain independence and improve overall quality of life.

Dr. Marquis treats a wide range of conditions, including back and neck pain, joint and muscle discomfort, arthritis, nerve and spine conditions, sports injuries, rehabilitation following injury or surgery, and conditions requiring Botox treatment, such as chronic migraines.

Dr. Marquis is currently seeing patients at the Medical One Clinic. No referral is required, though appointments are necessary. To schedule a visit or learn more, call 417-681-5284 or click here.

Cox Barton County Hospital is proud to expand access to specialized care for the rural Barton County community and welcomes Dr. Marquis to its health care team.
