St. Louis Children’s at CoxHealth, with the support and expertise from WashU Medicine pediatric physicians is a new collaboration that will bring highly specialized pediatric care closer to the communities we serve. By combining the trusted local care families know at CoxHealth with the nationally recognized expertise of St. Louis Children’s Hospital and WashU Medicine, this partnership reduces the need for long trips and keeps more care close to home.
Starting March 2026
Enhanced Inpatient Pediatric Care
St. Louis Children's at CoxHealthBeginning in March 2026, families will see pediatric services available at CoxHealth Medical Center South led by nationally recognized pediatric experts from St. Louis Children’s Hospital and WashU Medicine. Enhanced services include:
- A Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) providing comprehensive, specialized support for newborns
- Pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for children with complex or serious conditions
- Pediatric inpatient care designed especially for children and teens to make their stay as comfortable as possible
Looking Ahead to 2027
Southwest Missouri's Largest Pediatric Outpatient Center
St. Louis Children’s at CoxHealth Specialty Care CenterSt. Louis Children’s at CoxHealth Specialty Care Center will open as a freestanding pediatric outpatient center on the campus of CoxHealth Medical Center South. With three stories and 133,000 square feet of space focused on child and adolescent health care, it will be the largest pediatric outpatient facility in the region.
Designed with children and families in mind, and with expertise from WashU Medicine pediatric physicians, we will offer:
- Pediatric primary and specialty clinics in one convenient location
- Ambulatory surgery for children who don’t need an overnight stay
- Dedicated pediatric urgent care
- Physical and occupational therapy
- Sleep studies
- Imaging, lab services, and infusion care tailored for pediatric patients
- And more
