With the recent accreditation of Cox Barton County Hospital, all CoxHealth hospitals, outpatient centers and provider-based clinics are now nationally accredited by DNV GL - Healthcare.

The elite accreditation means that the hospital meets or exceeds patient safety standards (Conditions of Participation) set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

“We are excited about this designation, which is something we made a priority and have worked very hard to achieve,” says Arlo Stallion, CoxHealth’s system director of Regulatory Affairs. “This designation affirms that patients will have the same high-quality experience at CoxHealth regardless from which of these locations they receive treatment.”

DNV GL’s accreditation program, called NIAHO(National Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), involves annual hospital surveys – instead of every three years – and encourages hospitals to openly share information across departments and to discover improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.

DNV GL is also the only organization to integrate the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, which is used by performance-driven organizations around the world to advance their quality and sustainability objectives. CoxHealth became the first hospital system in Missouri to achieve ISO 9001 certification, which was achieved in 2018.
