I was blessed to have Lester E. Cox as my grandfather and, at the age of 10, he would take me on Saturday mornings to “make the rounds,” where he would check in on patients that he might know. My uncle Lester L. Cox took over as chairman after my grandfather died and he asked me to serve on the Board with him in 1990. I was fortunate to be able to serve as chairman of the Board myself.
