Hannah McCarthy, MD
Hi! I'm Hannah McCarthy, an Arkansas native and proud Razorback fan (Woo Pig Sooie!). I grew up near Fort Smith, Arkansas, and am the youngest of three with two brothers. My dad is a retired military officer and my mom teaches elementary school. I graduated from a small high school in Cedarville, Arkansas, and after high school I studied biology at the University of Central Arkansas. With the encouragement of my family, friends and mentors, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. I attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas and the rest is history!
I chose family medicine because it provides the unique opportunity to care for people through all stages of life and includes treating a wide variety of diseases so that each day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn. I also love being able to develop life-long relationships with my patients. My interests include rural medicine and women's health. I am thrilled to continue my training at CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency! I chose this program because of the tradition of excellence in training full-scope family medicine physicians and the people who instantly made me feel like a part of the CoxHealth FMR family.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, traveling, reading, watching all of my favorite childhood shows on Disney Plus, going to church, playing with my dog, and attending football games. My faith in Christ and my family are the most important motivators in my life. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Chaseton, who is a phenomenal high school football coach and teacher. We have one son, Brooks, who is the joy of our lives! I feel very blessed to be part of the CoxHealth FMR program and look forward to this new adventure in Springfield!
