Posted by Kaitlyn McConnell on July 9, 2018 Volunteers sew pillows at a sewing day.

Each year, CoxHealth volunteers create thousands of blankets and pillows that are given to patients in the hospital. On Friday, July 13, local kids are especially invited to help create even more items at the 2018 Kids Sewing Day, an annual event filled with fun, food, team building – and, of course, lots of sewing.

All kids ages 5 and up are invited to the event, regardless of previous sewing experience. It is free to participate, but children must have a parent or guardian on the premises the entire time. Lunch will be provided.

The sewing day runs from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be held in Room C-300 at Cox North Hospital (1423 N. Jefferson Ave., Springfield). Please enter through the Family Medical Care Center and take the south elevators to the third floor.

Registration is requested but not required. For more information, call 417-269-3169.
