In appreciation for their service, first responders from area counties are invited to a free barbecue lunch during CoxHealth's third annual Salute to First Responders.

"A barbecue can't adequately thank our local first responders for everything they do to support us, and their great commitment to keeping our communities safe," says Eric Clay, CoxHealth’s Public Safety director. "However, we hope they come out, enjoy the event and know we truly appreciate all they do every day."

No RSVP is required for lunch, which will be held at CoxHealth campuses in Branson, Lamar, Monett and Springfield.

Cox Branson: Aug. 15,  11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cox North: Aug. 17, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cox Barton County: Aug. 29, 12 to 2 p.m.
Cox Monett: Aug. 31, 12 to 2 p.m.

The event includes barbecue chicken, bratwursts, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and more, as well as prize drawings. Carry-out will be available for those who are on-duty.
