Three CoxHealth hospitals receive stroke care awards from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association

Cox South, Cox Branson and Cox Monett have been recognized with the “Get With the Guidelines ®” awards by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The awards reflect the hospitals’ commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines tied to the latest scientific evidence.

• Cox South earned the 2022 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: Stroke SM Honor Roll Elite Plus.
• Cox Branson earned the 2022 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: Stroke SM Honor Roll Elite Plus and the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.
• Cox Monett earned the 2022 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke SM Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award.

Each hospital has earned these awards for several years now. This is the seventh year Branson has received the gold plus achievement and second year with the Type 2 diabetes honor roll. Cox Monett has earned the silver plus achievement for four years in a row, and it is the third year that Cox South has received the gold plus achievement award.

The hospitals earned the awards by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke and cardiac patients at a set level for a designated period. Additionally, patients should receive education on managing their health and get a follow-up visit scheduled, as well as other care transition interventions, before discharge.
