Marshfield Fire Protection District collects $7,700 for CMN Hospitals at CoxHealth
A spirit of dedication and support for local kids resulted in members of the Marshfield Fire Protection District collecting more than $7,700 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at CoxHealth during a recent bucket brigade.
Firefighters stood at a four-way stop with buckets, and collected donations from passersby on two weekends in August.
“We know in doing the bucket brigade that the money raised really is coming back to our community because we have talked with those who have benefited from it,” says Lisa McCarthy with the Marshfield Fire Protection District. “In that, it makes us feel accomplished in knowing that we are helping our community in more than one way: Collecting of the funds, and those funds potentially going to residents of the community that we serve and protect.”
She shares that the district is celebrating its 95th year in 2021.
“We celebrate with those who have, in our hearts and minds, come before us and those who will come after us,” says McCarthy. “We would like to thank our community for their support because we would not be able to do this without them.”
Funds collected during the bucket brigade will go to CMN Hospitals at CoxHealth, which will utilize the funds in a variety of ways to benefit children and families in need throughout the Ozarks.
“We are grateful for the support of organizations such as the Marshfield Fire Protection District, and their efforts in helping local kids,” says Tim Siebert, executive director of CMN Hospitals at CoxHealth. “Every single action our communities take to raise money and support makes a big difference to our mission. It means a great deal to us, and to neighbors throughout the region.”
