CoxHealth to open new dialysis facility on Kearney Street
In order to meet a community need, CoxHealth is opening a new dialysis facility on Springfield’s north side this spring. The facility, located at 1007 E. Kearney Street, will expand CoxHealth’s dialysis capacity, beginning by serving an additional 50 dialysis patients, with the possibility of expanded capacity in the future.
“This new facility is the result of collaboration across our system to meet a community need,” says Steven Stovall, Director of Ozarks Dialysis. “We are excited to offer this to a patient population that relies on consistent, accessible care.”
The facility helps CoxHealth meet a growing need in the region. From 2018 to 2020, the health system saw demand for dialysis increase by 15,000 treatments a year. Roughly 35 percent of patients served by Ozarks Dialysis live on Springfield’s north side, or in surrounding communities north of Springfield.
Leaders will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new facility during an open house at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4. The new location opens to patients on May 8.
"This location will add convenience for both our patients and staff,” Stovall says. “When we transition to full operation, we are able to increase our capacity, while reducing our operating hours, providing better options for customers and team members.”
The facility will begin treatment on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and will soon transition to Monday through Saturday.
Ribbon cutting and open house: A ribbon cutting will be held at the new facility during an open house beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4. Media are invited to learn more about the facility and its services. If you plan to attend, please email corporatecommunications@coxhealth.com.
