Cox Monett Food and Nutrition Services earns Silver Spoon award
For the second consecutive year, the Cox Monett Food and Nutrition Services Department has been awarded a Silver Spoon award by the Barry County Health Department.
The awards are presented to food establishments in Barry County that did not have any priority or core health violations and had a valid permit between January 1 and December 31, 2019.
"The safety of our patients is our number one priority," said Jason Bauer, system director for Food and Nutrition Services at CoxHealth. "I am so proud of our employees for continually going above and beyond to make sure our food is prepared safely and delivered at the highest level. This is quite an achievement for any food establishment, particularly a very busy hospital; I'm just glad we could do our part to contribute to what makes Cox Monett an award-winning facility."
This is the eleventh year that the health department has recognized establishments for demonstrating excellence in public food safety through the Silver Spoon award. The frequency of inspection of each food establishment is determined by public health priority, which is calculated by a risk assessment worksheet. Establishments are rated as high, medium, or low priority.
Cox Monett, rated as high priority, was inspected at a minimum of three times in 2019.
