CoxHealth in Springfield has been recognized by CareChex as the top hospital in the nation for spinal fusion, and as second in the nation for spinal surgery, in the group’s 2014 America’s Top Quality Hospitals medical excellence ratings.
Unlike other publicly available hospital quality ratings, CareChex, a division of Comparion, provides a comprehensive, multi-dimensional analysis of medical quality by evaluating process of care, outcomes of care, and patient satisfaction data. Their National Quality Rating Database includes virtually all general, acute, non-federal U.S. hospitals.
CoxHealth in Springfield was also recognized by CareChex as the top hospital in Missouri in a number of categories. For medical excellence: general surgery, neurological care and major neurosurgery; and for patient safety: heart attack treatment, major neurosurgery, pneumonia care, pulmonary care, spinal fusion and spinal surgery.
“CoxHealth has always been committed to providing our patients with the highest quality care and experience,” said Daniel L. Sontheimer, MD, CoxHealth Chief Medical Officer. “Our physicians and staff are second to none, and this recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication to providing excellent patient care.”
